Senior Counsel

Barbara is a trusted advisor to in-house legal, HR, compliance, and operations team.  She anticipates risk, navigates conflict with integrity, and delivers practical, business-focused solutions in high-stakes and high-pressure situations. She brings a collaborative, in-house perspective, shaped by senior roles advising both a large municipality and a large national health and human services company.

Barbara is an experienced employment lawyer, with more than 25 years of experience counseling employers across the full employment life cycle, including employment counseling, workplace investigations, policy development and review, compliance, and the strategic management of single-plaintiff and class action litigation, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings. She regularly designs and delivers trainings for all levels of leaders and HR professionals and works closely with HR, compliance, and operational teams to align employment practices and legal strategy with organizational objectives and risk tolerance.

Barbara also brings a strong business law foundation developed through her work at leading AMLaw firms and as in-house counsel. Her experience includes advising companies on commercial disputes, governance and operational matters, and complex litigation, informing a pragmatic, enterprise-wide approach to employment and workplace issues grounded in broader business realities.

In addition, Barbara has substantial experience in labor relations, including union strategy, collective bargaining, grievance administration, and defending against unfair labor practice charges, providing added depth to employment-focused representations.
